Original Abstract
Excessive moisture of building structure, due absence of waterproofing in structure is in 21st century still a global problem. When you visit older parts of villages or towns not just in the Czech or Slovak republic, then just first look at the facades of houses and you can see how big problem could be when there is so much moisture in the buildings. Because we're talking about older buildings, the waterproofing of the floors in most cases doesn't work correctly or completely missing. To the floor construction then penetrate humidity, which is cause of significant construction problems. In the wooden floors, which are mostly used in historical buildings, in presence of increase moisture leads to the dimensional changes (shrinkage and swelling) and the possibility of biotic agents. For these reasons, it is entirely appropriate to take structural steps to prevent these problems. Right now there is a solution, application of air systems.
