Original Abstract
The aim of this paper is to present some results of research on behaviour of steel tubular columns filled by high-performance concrete. The focus of the resolution is to enhance of the buckling resistance while an efficient utilization of materials (steel and concrete). Attention is given to the circular tubes by sectional dimensions and length usual for columns of building with respect to the real application. The length of the tubes 3,0 m is under consideration. Theoretical analysis comprising parametric comparative study was carried out within the solution. Based on the results of the comparative study, geometries of the sections and materials was put together to be optimal. Numerical models (finite element models) are developed for this configuration in computer program ATENA. This paper presents initial results of developed numerical model.
