Original Abstract
The project concerns advanced processing and analysis of ultrasonographic image data aimed at optimum exploitation of information contained in the raw ultrasonografic (radio-frequency or non-converted video) signals, which can be acquired from some commercial systems. This way, a higher diagnostic value of the visualised results can be achieved in comparison with processing as standard in commercial systems. The project is concentrated particularly on highly topical 3D imaging based on advanced processing of 2D-data provided by "free-hand" scanning, which doesn't complicate routine cardiological procedures (important for clinical acceptance). From the technical aspect, besides further development of the so far obtained results in signal restoration, optimised segmentation and flexible disparity-based frame regis-tration, namely a set of algorithms for 3D data compilation, processing, analysis and interactively controlled visualisation is to be designed, implemented and technically as well as medically tested.
