Original Abstract

This paper is aimed at showing and demonstrating progress in technologies and improvements in units for waste-to-energy systems (e.g. incinerators of municipal solid waste) and shows a review of recent achievements of the author’s research groups. Specific features and constraints are taken into account. These technologies present a challenge for potential investors and operators as well as researchers. Heat recovery system of units like these enable maximum possible energy utilization in addition to the primary purpose – waste processing. Therefore we speak about waste-to-energy technologies (WtE). It is necessary to develop various novel types of heat exchangers for these purposes.
