Original Abstract

A development in the field of a synchronous car starter-generator is introduced in this paper. A car starter-generator conception is developed in all automobile concerns at the present time. No standard conception was established yet. A norm for the future car traffic is prepared which supposes often stopping and re-starting the combustion engine at each car stopping (at the traffic lights etc.). The today´s common starter with pinion, tooth gear and commutator cannot be used any more because of its low life time (about 50.000 starts - newly demanded at least 500.000 starts!) and low reliability. That is why a new more robust solution without unreliable mechanical elements is asked. Moreover a system combining the function of the starter and the function of the alternator is demanded.
