Original Abstract
Acoustic modeling of auditory spaces and auralization often use methods of geometrical acoustics for simulation of sound wave propagation, namelyray-tracing and image source methods. By using these methods we obtain information about sound reflection in auditory spaces which are then processed to obtain impulse response, frequency response, and frequency characteristic. Realization of these methods is divided into several steps. This paper presents means of parallelization of some of the steps involved in the computation and provides comparison of computational efficiency of the algorithm realized by using one to eight threads in Matlab development environment. In conclusion, the article describes possibilities for parallelized implementation of the acoustic methods using GPU (Graphics Processing Unit).
