Original Abstract

In this work, samples produced by chromogenic and special photographic processes as well as inkjet printing techniques were studied in a long-term and accelerated lightfastnesstest.Colour changes of the samples were followed spectrophotometricallyduring both tests. Gamut volumes were calculatedfrom the measured spectra using a custom-programmed utility calledVolGa. Gamut volume change was used as a measure ofsample degradation and was plotted against the corresponding exposure dose. From the regression analysis of the recorded gamut shrinkage data, formal parameters of the fadingrate were determined which can also serve as a tool for the expression of predicted lifetimes. Sample comparison was performed on the basis of 30% gamut volume loss as the suggested endpoint criterion.
