Original Abstract
Microbubbles are used in biomedical field as diagnostic agents in combination with ultrasound. This imaging technique has also been proposed for drug or gene delivery to targeted regions. The aim of our study was to identify the potential of ultrasound agent SonoVue(R) for drug delivery. The properties of SonoVue(R) were investigated by dynamic light scattering method, centrifugal dispersion analysis and fluorescence spectroscopy measurement. Ability of incorporation of drug was studied with doxorubicin hydrochloride and hydrophobic fluorescent probe. We present results of a pilot study to determine colloid properties of SonoVue(R) microbubble suspension. The results will be used in subsequent experiments and for design a new drug delivery system.
