Original Abstract
Prestressed concrete bridges with progressively erected decks are described in terms of their architectural and structural arrangement, static analyses and erection. The deck of the bridges is formed by a spine box girder that was additionally widened by precast struts and cast-in-place overhangs. The decks were cast in formworks that were suspended on overhang movable scaffolding with so-called organic prestressing. This prestressing progressively eliminates deformation of the scaffolding during the casting. The bridges have spans from 42 to 69 m; their width is from 25 to 31 m. The arrangement of the bridges was developed on the basis of detailed static and dynamic analyses. The static function and a quality of the workmanship were verified by detailed static and dynamic loading tests. During construction the strain gauges were placed in critical sections and the structures were carefully monitored both during the erection and service.
