Original Abstract
Lithium-ion batteries occupy every year more and more dominant position on the market with batteries. One of the most commonly used materials for the commercial production of lithium-ion battery is the cathode material LiCoO2. It can be interesting to see how long the cathode material can be stored under normal conditions without significantly affecting its electrochemical properties for the production of lithium-ion batteries. This article deals with the changes in the electrochemical properties of the cathode material LiCoO2 synthesized according to the time elapsed since its synthesis. The materials were stored under normal conditions and after a certain period of time their capacity during cycling and stability at higher loads were monitored. The synthesized material was further studied by SEM and EDX. Measurements showed that with increasing time elapsed since the synthesis there appears deterioration of the electrochemical properties up to the complete degradation of the material.
