Original Abstract
Pathloss models are useful planning tools that allow the designers of wirelesscommunication networks to achieve optimal levels for the base stationdeployment and meeting the expected service level requirements. In this study variouspropagation models (COST 231 Walfisch-Ikegami W-I, Ericsson and StanfordUniversity Interim SUI) are analyzed and compared with the measurements. Themeasured data were taken in urban (high density region) and rural (low densityregion) environments at the operating frequency of 1700 MHz using the spectrumanalyzer. As one of the key outputs, It was found that the calculations of SUImodel fit with the measured data in urban environment.
