Original Abstract

Aluminide diffusion coatings are very important for long service life of structural components exposed to high temperatures during the service. These are used in high temperature applications because of their capability to resist oxidation, maintain structural integrity and reduce inter-diffusion of species between the coating and the substrate [1, 2]. As the Al content of superalloys is too low to ensure the formation of continuous protective coating, substrate surface must be enriched to create a highly stable Al-Ni intermetallic compounds [1, 3]. Different methods such as pack cementation aluminizing, aluminum hot dipping, slurry aluminization or CVD processes are used [3]. Different conditions of CVD process as composition of powder mixture, temperature and dwell of isothermal exposure were studied, to set the most suitable coating formation process conditions.
