Original Abstract
In speech communication areas, such as mobile hands-free telephony, we often come into situations where we have to deal with problems of noise. In car-interior environments, hands-free communication suffers due to various speech degradation effects, which in turn reduce overall intelligibility. From a statistical point of view, speech is a quasi-stationary random process. Because of this phenomena it is necessary to employ a special purpose noise-cancelling techniques that are capable of working with time-varying stochastic signals. It turns out that adaptive algorithms are the proper and suitable tool that is also the most efficient. This article discusses the possibilities of adaptive noise control for speech enhancement in car-interior environment.
