Original Abstract

Hydrogen can be used as a non-toxic energy storage and transport medium. Hydrogen that is made from water by electrolysis using solar energy is a sustainable and renewable home energy supply. In this work, we have synthesized a novel type of nanostructured metal-oxide semiconductor pho-toanode via electrochemically anodizing Al/W metal layers sputter-deposited onto a Si wafer and assessed its applicability for water oxidation reactions in acidic aqueous conditions.
