Original Abstract
Tall buildings are constructed in large numbers due to scarcity of land and to meet the increasing demand for space for residential and commercial purposes. These structures being slender light weight and with low structural damping undergo oscillations in along wind, across wind and torsional directions under the influence of strong winds. Also for cladding are using lightweight materials, exposed to wind action. Safe with good human comfort and economic design of tall buildings are achieved, if reliable methods to account for complicated wind or seismic effects are practiced while their design. In build-up area common boundary layer of wind speed could not be used. The aim of this article is to show results of wind tunnel measurements results comparing with CFD analysis of pressure distribution on cladding seventeen floors building of NBS (National Bank of Slovakia). Building ground plan is combined shape of closed angles and arcs. This shape in certain angles of wind attack may cause high local values of pressure and suction. Modified wind stream can cause worst effect. Comparison of experimental and numerical results shows very good correlation.
