Tento příspěvek nemá za cíl popsat komplexně problematiku správného návrhu podlahových desek. Spíš je sledováno na několika našich zkušenostech dokumentovat a širší veřejnost seznámit s nejčastějšími chybami, se kterými se autoři setkali během posledních cca 5-ti let.

Design of a structure, in which are respected the requirements for the risk reduction of failures development, is the starting step for the provision of sustainable development in the building industry. Design of a load bearing structure of a building is a large set of the architectural and engineering activities. All these activities are interconnected, they influence each other and in result they determine the quality of realized construction. Modern design of a construction should be done so as a construction was designed from materials which properties are fully utilized and with the view to satisfy the conditions of loading capacity and serviceability at minimizing costs (and also environmental impacts within its life cycle). The optimization should be based on recent trends “Integrated design of structure” and “Application of optimizing methods”. The objective of the paper is to define the basic aspects for a task of optimization design of a load-bearing structure from viewpoint of its life-cycle considering the stochastic access to the input magnitudes, to consider both the structural and environmental aspects in concrete structure design (multi-criterion optimization), to find out and apply (modify) appropriate algorithms for the solution of thus defined tasks (pareto optimum), to analyze the optimum sensitivity and to process necessary recommendations.
