Original Abstract

With the electrochemical impedance measurement capability becoming more and more standard in the present day electrochemical instrumentation, the technique is also being introduced in experimentation and more routinely at that. While the danger of misinterpretation based on analogs derived from equivalent circuits remains as it always has been, the occurrence of such interpretation is increasing because the impedance nonlinear least square fitting procedures are often included in the instrumental software package and allow mechanical modeling without requirement of deeper understanding the fundamentals. While this is natural consequence of the mass availability, some undesirable outcome may be for example alleviated by closer attention to the chosen sample geometry.
