Original Abstract
This paper deals with design calculations of a heat recovery steam generator (HRSG) based on heat transfer equations. The calculations represent a simplified computational model and can be used for preliminary design of HRSG sections of so-called convectional type, i.e. superheater, evaporator and economizer consisting of banks of tubes with regard to pressure losses on flue gas side. However, several important parameters of a HRSG further described in [5] should be chosen carefully in advance, but not definitely. The model can be used for banks of plain tubes as well as fin-tube banks with annular fins. The computational approaches, presented in [5] and below, form a basic scope of HRSG appropriate choice. An application of the presented model of a HRSG including optimal configuration and final comparison of plain vs. extended surfaces for design operating conditions are discussed in a case study.
