Original Abstract
This study deals with the experimental and numerical investigation of gas distribution and liquid curtain evolving inside a sprinkler head of the pilot-plant wet shower scrubber. This device is used for cleaning polluted gas mixture and is based on absorption processes. In order to understand the behavior of fluid flow and in order to design and evaluate absorption devices the study of liquid atomization, droplet size, droplet velocity, spray pattern and fluid distribution is essential. The experiments were carried out in a transparent enlarged model of the sprinkle head and were compared with computational fluid dynamics using Ansys software (CFX solver).
