Original Abstract
Oleganious yeast are non-conventional yeasts with ability to accumulate significant amounts of lipids and lipid-soluble metabolites like sterols and pigments. In addition, red yeasts are able to utilize wide range of substrates that could lead to the low-cost biotechnological prodution of enriched biomasswith lipids and lipid-soluble components. Fourier-transformation infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and Raman spectroscopy has shown a large potencial to be used in extensive screenings.
