Original Abstract
By means of the mathematical-physical model the measurements on the experimental arc heater with argon as a working gas are investigated. The model is based on mass and energy conservation equations and Ohm’s law. The input data are the experimentally obtained integral quantities of the arc current I (50 – 200 A) and the voltage U (~100 V), the mass flow rate of working gas G (up to 22 gs-1), energy losses of the anode channel Pz, the enthalpy flow on the arc heater output and material functions of argon. The measured and/or computed dependencies are given in diagrams and discussed.
