Original Abstract
Architecture always has to take many criteria into account. New buildings ought to have functional and aesthetically pleasing spaces, they are expected to last and to be urbanistically as well as economically viable. But lately, the complexity of these often contradictory demands is increasing even more. New codes and requirements, especially regarding the efficient use of material resources and energy, have to be taken into account. Due to increasing complexity, many architecture offices have come to embrace the possibilities of parametric design approaches.
