Original Abstract
These days there are many projects such as TURANOR PlanetSolar, Solar Voyager, Solaris, SoelCat 12 and the Helios yacht, which use solar energy obtained from solar panels mounted on the ships deck or from solar sails. This research paper focuses on a theoretical effectivity of photovoltaic panels mounted on a ship’s hull sides and a comparison of gained energy from horizontal panels to vertical ones. All results and outcomes are based on simulations of specific weather conditions at specific latitude. Future research will consider different panel positions, weather and latitudes.
