Original Abstract
Maintenance and repair of failures is essential condition of safe and effective use of building structures. Repair works or rehabilitation is term describing compendium of measures to renovate damaged structure. Decisive stage during rehabilitation of reinforced concrete structures is removal of deteriorated concrete and subsequent renewal of cross section of structure member. The most common materials used for renewal of cross section are materials based on polymercement binders. In most cases, the secondary protection (for example coating systems or screeds) is applied to ensure sufficient durability of renewed member. Application of secondary protection is usually difficult stage of repair works from the technological point of view and increases cost of repair works. The application of repair mortars, which are able to ensure sufficient durability by its primary resistance to corrosive environment, eliminates necessity of use of secondary protection. One of the possible ways how to increase resistance of repair mortars is to modify composition by adding suitable admixtures and additives. Among those suitable admixtures and additives belong some of the waste materials. The most promising from this sense are some types of power plant fly-ash and blast furnace slag.
