Original Abstract
The series of totally six DPP derivatives was prepared. The derivatives were modified by nucleophilic substitution by two alkyl chains - 2-ethylhexyl and adamantyl-ethyl. A typical limitation of this type of reaction is its very poor selectivity, leading to the formation of 3 products - N,N-; N,O- and O,O-alkylated. The synthesis was performed in order to prepare and isolate all three possible products and subsequently explore their properties and find possible utilization. Thermal and optical properties were investigated and the effect of both the alkyl chain character and the binding site in the DPP molecule was evaluated.
