Original Abstract

Úctyhodný tým čtyřiadvaceti historiků a historiček architektury, historiků a historiček, architektů a architektek a dalších specialistů a specialistek pod vedením Petra Vorlíka vydal v letošním roce knihu s prostým názvem (A)typ: Architektura osmdesátých let. Kniha je prvním knižním výstupem projektu NAKI II. „Architektura osmdesátých let v České republice“. Kniha si ve velmi stručném úvodu klade za cíl být „syntetickým uchopením vybraných jevů, které výmluvně charakterizují dvojí tvář architektury osmdesátých let.“ Tou dvojí tváří je myšlena jednak konstrukce sterotypu o šedé jednotvárnosti, kožence a hnědé barvě, jednak hlubší, nepředpojatý pohled. Úvod bohužel neposkytuje žádný vysvětlující komentář k samotné koncepci knihy, kromě toho, že má jít o „nástin a příslib, první souborný výstup ze série připravovaných knih“ zmiňovaného projektu. Tak je nutné knihu z mnoha důvodů chápat a pak se jeví jako skvělý počin.

English abstract

This year, a respectable team of twenty-four historians of architecture, historians and architects and other specialists under the leadership of Petr Vorlík published a book with a simple title (A) type: Architecture of the 1980s. The book is the first book output of the NAKI II project. "Architecture of the 1980s in the Czech Republic". In a very brief introduction, the book aims to be "a synthetic grasp of selected phenomena that eloquently characterize the double face of 1980s architecture." Unfortunately, the introduction does not provide any explanatory commentary on the very concept of the book, apart from the fact that it is to be an "outline and a promise, the first comprehensive output of a series of forthcoming books" of the project. So it is necessary to understand the book for many reasons and then it seems like a great deed.
