Original Abstract

The article focuses on the impact of digital transformation on the organization of the event, more specifically on the international conference. Paper investigates how COVID-19 pandemic and the need to shift into online space influences the organization of the conference while using digital technologies to organize the hybrid form of the conference. Main aim of the article is to investigate the outputs of the digitally transformed hybrid international conference in the age of COVID-19. The research combines several research methods including observation, use of case study, and unstructured interview with organizers, speakers, and participants of the event. The findings show that tools and methods of the project management were not implemented during the organization of the conference, which complicated the hybrid event in both online and in-person scenarios. To conclude, hybrid form of the conference is the future in the organization of conferences, and events in general. Article presents insights concerning the organization of events in the hybrid form, together with the respective theory, presented together with research limitations.
