Original Abstract
Harmonics are generally classified as the most well-known problem in the distribution system. Nowadays also linked to inverter-based power generating units. In this paper an effective technique to reduce total harmonic distortion in output voltage and current of a single-phase voltage source DC/AC Inverter is proposed and evaluated by means of simulations. Based on using passive filters, and PWM open loop and closed loop control, the inverter is designed to achieve the output waveform as close as possible to the sinusoidal wave. The proposed inverter filter and control design main characteristic is the ability to consider the presence of harmonics and make them less than 5 % The performance of this approach in the inverter development has been proven in the PSIM environment.
