Original Abstract
A FE model of stress-strain states in a real geometry aortic aneurysm is presented in the paper. The model assumes homogeneous isotropic incompressible behaviour of non-linear elastic material. The model is loaded by inner pressure in the normal physiologic range. Extreme stress values in the aortic wall are compared with extreme values in the intact aorta. The results of computational modelling enable us to evaluate the risk of wall rupture, by comparison of the stress increase caused by the individual types and geometries of abdominal aortic aneurysms.
