Original Abstract
The article deals with joints between precast segments of slender bridge structures. These structures are frequently constructed by precast segments because of the possibility of their construction independently from the existing terrain. The joints being the source of discontinuities of these structures, attention must be paid to their detailed analysis. The service life of the joints can be critical in terms of the service life of the whole structure. Therefore, an experiment was designed to investigate the behaviour of the joints in the service life of the structure. The experiment provided important insights applicable to the numerical modelling of structures such as stress ribbon structures or suspension structures consisting of precast segments.
