Original Abstract

The integration of renewable energy sources (RES) into modern energy systems presents significant challenges due to the variability in electricity production from solar and wind sources. As the share of RES increases, managing these fluctuations becomes critical. Solutions include electricity imports and exports, backup power sources, and large-capacity energy storage systems. This paper examines the current state, promising systems and pilots projects of large-capacity solutions, including batteries and gravitational storage.
