Original Abstract

This paper describes an efficient way how to process sludge from pulp and paper plants including waste to energy system. A unit for thermal treatment of wet sludge with a capacity more than 100 tons per day is analysed and completely rebuilt. The pulp and paper plant is located in mining area. Due to more and more sweeping environmental laws affecting the process industry, the unit needed a complete retrofit. The retrofit has been realized in three stages.
