Original Abstract

This paper deals with the OPNET modeling tool. In the first part the introduction to the analysis and design area is given, followed by the description of the network analysis tool OPNET. The second part proposes an application of OPNET simulation tool in the area of network analysis and the comparison with some other tools is given. The last part outlines the utilization of OPNET for the use in the protocol analysis and compares an advantages and disadvantages of this tools. The conclusion introduces the experiences from the application of OPNET at Brno University of Technology.
