Original Abstract
New technologies offer new solutions and methods in many technical branches; the same applies also in geodesy. Video stream containing precise timing information and robotic total station are such new technologies. Video stream containing precise timing, so called time stamped video, can be used for monitoring of fast moving objects. Accuracy of time is limited mainly by the frame rate of video signal, with Pal TV system it means 25 frames per second - corresponding timing error is 0.04s. Using even and odd half frames - so called fields it can be reduced to 0.02s. Such accuracy and possibility of continuous monitoring of investigated processes can solve many tasks of engineering, marine, industrial or special geodesy. Our solution is based on video-inserter steered by GPS receiver. Video inserter adds text raw to the output video stream. This row contains time of individual half frame exposure, so each half frame of the video stream is stamped with time information. Such stream can be processed automatically; time information can be extracted from frames and further utilized. Where millimeter precision is demanded and standard videogrammetric methods are insufficient, combination with robotic total station can be used. Video camera using total station telescope as telephoto objective can reach angular resolution of few arc seconds. Disadvantage of this solution is rather small field of view of the camera. On the other hand, such camera can follow movements of investigated object or if needed change subject of sensing quickly. Orientation of the telescope can be changed robotically in few seconds. Actual orientation of the telescope can be derived exactly from readings of instrument circles in any time. Such complex device can be used for special tasks like dynamic load tests of bridges or special measurements on moving objects. Recently, application from geodetic astronomy is being finished with supposed angular accuracy 1 arc second.
