Original Abstract
The paper deals with the design and implementation of authentication and encryption algorithms for the electrometer communication unit in the Internet network. Currently, the most widely used networks for data communication are TCP/IP networks. One of the application areas is the remote data control in power engineering, where the consumption of electric power is read in so-called continual metering. While in the telemetric acquisition station, located in the data centre, protection against attacks from the outside is dealt with within the framework of the distribution company, the situation at the electric power consumption end is quite different. The electrometer communication unit is usually connected directly to the Internet network. Since data on current consumption are commercially sensitive data and only a licensed user has access to the unit, it is necessary that every unit should include elements that will provide this protection.
