Original Abstract
This paper deals with possibility of substitution of currently used solution heat exchangers for heat exchange between two flows of liquid mixture in absorption cycles. The substitution is based on utilizing of desorption-absorption process. This substitution is applicable at situations where a hot mixture flow is depressurizing during cooling process and a cool mixture is pressurized and heated. This is typical situation for absorption heat pumps cycles and absorption cooler cycles. The desorption-absorption heat exchanger represents a sub-mixing heat exchanger. Where, liquid solution flows are not mixed, but the exchanger enables transfer of vapor between the flows. This results in another advantage of such exchangers. Exchange of vapors causes changes in mass-fraction composition of mixtures. This can help to improve absorption cycles performance and decrease irreversibility during a heat exchange processes. This paper describes processes in the absorption-desorption heat exchanger. Utilizing of current heat exchangers is compared with utilizing of the absorption-desorption heat exchangers on a simple one-stage absorption cycle with an ammonia-water working pair.
