Original Abstract
The procedure of forming nanostructures uses electrodeposition employing anodic nanoporous alumina as template. The non-conductive template (Whatman anodisc) is coated with conductive (metal) layer on one side to create cathode. During the electrodeposition process, the metal is growing only on the conductive layer and fills up the nanopores in the non-conductive template. After dissolving the template, highly ordered metal nanostructures are obtained. The main parameters which can influence the crystal nuclei formation are the current density, the concentration of electrolyte, the temperature, impurities, and the pH. Nickel Watts bath was used for the nanotubes and nanowires growing. The current density was in the range 1-10 mA/cm² to observe optimal nuclei formation. Created nanostructures were examined by scanning electron microscopy (SEM).
