Original Abstract
The formulation of optimized design of longitudinal reinforcement in a framed concrete structure of known cross sections and shape is presented. The input quantities (dimension of cross section, position of reinforcement layer, modulus of elasticity and strength of concrete and reinforcing steel, live load) are random variables. Constraint conditions are given as the conditions of structure reliability in accordance with the relevant codes for ultimate strength and applicability of the sections specified by a designer. The stochastic FEM is used for solution of optimal design problem with random variables. The perturbation method is used for solution of this problem. The numerical results of solved examples are commented
