Original Abstract

In vitro amplification of nucleic acids using the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) has become a powerful diagnostic tool for the analysis of microorganisms. However, the sensitivity of PCR may be reduced when complex biological samples are studied, since various extracellular PCR inhibitors may be present. The problem can be resolved by means of various DNA isolation and purification methods. Magnetic particles can be successfully used for the isolation of DNA from various samples containing PCR inhibitors. Research has been focused on the development of innovative magnetic nanoparticles.
