Original Abstract
In speech communication areas, such as mobile hands-free telephoning, we often come into situations where we have to face the problems with noise. In car interior, hands-free communication suffers due to various speech degradation effects, which in turn reduces overall intelligibility. From a statistical point of view, speech is a quasi-stationary random process. Because of this and many other reasons it is necessary to employ such noise-cancelling techniques that are capable of dealing with time-varying stochastic signals. It turned out that adaptive algorithms are one of the most efficient. This article discusses the possibilities of adaptive noise control for noise cancellation in car-cockpit environment.
