Original Abstract
The contribution is focused on assessing the quality of the IDF curves estimates depending on the length of the rainfall series, especially of the short ones (10-20 years). The statistical analysis is based on the extreme value distribution. The sampling technique (annual maxima series, peaks over threshold), the estimating method (maximum likelihood, probability weighted moments) are taken into account. The IDF curves estimates obtained by different techniques and methods of estimation are compared.
