Fundamentals of Technical Diagnostics

FSI-RZIAcad. year: 2010/2011

The students will be introduced to the fundamentals of technical diagnostics. The subject is focused on theoretical analysis and some results from technical applications will be presented

Language of instruction

Czech

Number of ECTS credits

5

Mode of study

Not applicable.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

The students will obtain the overview of the methods which are applied in the technical diagnostics and their application in practice.

Prerequisites

Knowledge of basis of vibration in continuum mechanics
Knowledge of basis of experimental modal analysis
Knowledge of basis of accoustics
Knowledge of basis of vibrations measurement

Co-requisites

Not applicable.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

Teaching methods depend on the type of course unit as specified in the article 7 of BUT Rules for Studies and Examinations.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

The examination consists of two parts. The first is a written test and the second is an oral part. The test consists of 10 questions, where 2 points evaluate each question. It is necessary to obtain as minimum 10 points. The oral part is supplemental and is focused only on the technical diagnostics methods and their technical applications..

Course curriculum

Not applicable.

Work placements

Not applicable.

Aims

The students will be made familiar with the fundamental principles of technical diagnostics, solution methods and approaches to the analysis. The exercises will be focused on solution of technical problems.

Specification of controlled education, way of implementation and compensation for absences

Attendance is required. One absence can not be compensated for by a seminar with another group in the same week, or by elaboration of make-up tasks. Longer absence is compensated for by special tasks according to instructions of the tutor. Course-unit credits are awarded on the condition of: - active presence in the seminars, - good results of seminar tests of basic knowledge, - solution of additional tasks in case of longer excusable absence. Seminar tutor will specify concrete form of these conditions in the first week of semester.
