Design Seminar - Solid Works

The subject extends knowledge of parametric modelling and familiarize learners with next digital technologies in the area of mechanical engineering.Classified inclusionThe course extends practical experience and theoretic bases of CAD systems gained in subjects ZM1, ZM2. The theoretic part acquaints students with advanced methods of design. The practical part is focused on students work and solving of concrete project engaged at the beginning semester.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

Students will have an overview of CAD system properties and digital technologies. Students obtain overwiev about CAD system SolidWorks and 3D digitizing. They work on projects.

Prerequisites

Basic knowledge of CAD systems.

Teaching methods: seminar, consultation, homework.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

Students will be awarded a course-unit credit on condition of having attended the seminars actively and reported the project, presentation and delivery digital and paper data.

Specification of controlled education, way of implementation and compensation for absences

Participation in the exercises is obligatory and is controlled by the teacher. Absences can be compensated in exceptional and well-founded cases – to be determined by the course supervisor.
