Diploma Seminar - winter

FaVU-DS-ZAcad. year: 2011/2012

The seminar coordinates the final stage of the diploma thesis writing. Students have one to one tutorials, and they can also ask for more advice during the seminars. PhDr. Ondracka helps the students establish connection between the theoretical and practical parts of the thesis, while Prof. Sedlák helps the student with stylistic aspects of the writing during his lectures and tutorials.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

To put together, write and defend the theoretic part of the magisterial diploma work which is also a personal theoretic starting point for further free artistic activity.

Prerequisites

Students must be able to process structured information, theoretical texts, and must be able to produce their own theoretical reflexion of the topic.

Teaching methods depend on the type of course unit as specified in the article 7 of BUT Rules for Studies and Examinations..

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

Students will acquire the credits after handing in their theoretical thesis. However, students who did not attend the tutorials will not acquire the credit.

Course curriculum

1) The students will either confirm or change the topic of their thesis so that it is ready for the approval by the Comitee.
2) Students will be informed about the formal aspects of the thesis during lectures and seminars
3) Students will attend tutorials

Aims

The main objective of the subject is coordination of the theoretical part of the diploma thesis in such a way so taht it reflects the particularity of being a art student and meets the criteria defined by FaVU.
The students reflect on their position from a viewpoint of active artists on a structured, factual, and professional basis.

Syllabus

In seminars and in their credit work (30 lines), diplomates back up the selection of the diploma work topics, along with the relation of the topic to the diplomates´ creative programmes and magisterial tasks. Seminars are informal, in the forms of discussion, defence and opposition.
