A Survey of International Art History - First Half of the 20th Century

The lecture provides with the overview of art movements, tendencies and personalities mainly in the areas of painting and sculpture in the second and third decades of the 20th century in Europe and the USA. Expressive, dadaistic and surrealistic tendencies. The phenomenon of "Parisian School". Art deco, art of dictatorships.

1.Expressive tendencies, art groups in Germany, fauvism.
2.The way to cubism, tu cubism in painting sculpture, "cubist painters".
3.Orfism, futurism, abstractive tendencies, De Stijl.
4. Constructivist tendencies, phenomenon Bauhaus, kinetic art, Russian avant-garde.
5. Dadaism, surrealism, their spreading and influence.
6. "Parisian School".
7. Expressive tendencies between the world wars, "Neue Sachlichkeit".
5. Neo-classicism, art deco, art of dictatorships - Italy, Germany, USSR.
