Railway Constructions

Railway superstructure, rail fastening systems, track loads and calculations of bearing capacity. (Railway track structure. Rail fastening. Rail joints, sleepers and ballast bed).
Development of railway structures. Theory of continuous welded rail. Rail welding, long unwelded rails, maintenance of continuous welded rail. Stability of continuous welded rail.
Slab track, cog-wheel (rack) railway and other non-classic railway structures.

2. Rails, rail joints.
3. The rail, manufacturing, welding, testing and acceptance.
4. Sleepers and bearers.
5. Ballast bed. Rail fastening systems.
6. Static track design, computer models.
7. Rail stresses, sleeper stresses, vertical stresses on ballast bed and formation.
8. Theory of continuous welded rail.
9. Rail welding methods, long unwelded rails.
10. Continuous welded rail maintenance, failures.
11. Modern railway structure design.
