Completion and extension of theoretical and practical information included in the Hydraulics and hydrology course:
Dynamics of ideal fluid and basics of dynamics of viscous fluid, potential flow and its application
Uniform steady motion of water in open channels, depression and backwater curve, Shaft and sideway overfalls, flow at the spillways and in aprons, Forms of hydraulic jump with surface regime, divergent stilling pools, Unsteady water flow in tubes, direct and indirect water shock in tubes, Shock waves in open channels, their velocity and transformation, continuously changing unsteady flow in open channels, filling and emptying lock chambers, Power action of hydraulics jets, flow around bodies, Dimensional analysis, basics of model similarity in fluid mechanics, Non-Newtons fluids and non-Binghams matter flow

1. – Open channel hydraulic: nonuniform steady and unsteady continuously changing flow
2. – Backwater and drawdown curves, shock waves and their velocity and transformation
3. – Filling and emptying of unprismatic reservoirs and navigation locks
4. – Shaft and side channel spillways
5. – Hydraulic jump with surface regime, divergent stilling pool
6. – Supercritical flow, open channel flux aeration
7. – Unsteady water flow in tubes and shock waves in pipes
8. – Flow around bodies, power action of hydraulic jets
9. – Design and dimension analysis, basics of model similarity in fluid mechanics
10.- Non-Newton's fluids and non-Bingham's matter flow
11.- Basics of potential flow
12.- Euler’s and Navier-Stokes differential equations describing water flow
13.- Flow in pressure water supply ring and distribution networks, pipe with longitudinal uptake

Aims

The course of hydraulics provides students with general comprehension of hydraulic calculation and design of water related structures. The students will apply gained knowledge in all specializations of water management.
