Photographic Processes

Display systems and technologies, photographic optics , equipment of camera. Black and white photography, theory of latent image formation, chemical processing of black and white photographic materials, technical data of materials. Sensitometry and densitometry, characteristic curve, sensitivity and other sensitometric characteristics, granularity and resolving power of photographic materials. Negative, positive and reversal processing. Diffusive transfer imaging materials. Colour photography, specific technologies of film processing. Colour negative, positive reversal and dye bleach process, colour instant photography. Digital photography. Introduction into pre-press technologies. Scanning, image data processing, screening, proofing.

Course curriculum

1. Display systems and technologies, photographic optics , equipment of camera. 2. Black and white photography, theory of latent image formation, chemical processing of black and white photographic materials, technical data of materials. 3. Sensitometry and densitometry, characteristic curve, sensitivity and other sensitometric characteristics, granularity and resolving power of photographic materials. 4. Negative and positive processing, 5. Reversal processing. Diffusive transfer imaging materials. 6. Colour photography, specific technologies of film processing, colour negative, 7. Positive, reversal and dye bleach process, 8. Colour instant photography. 9. Digital Photography. 10. Introduction into pre-press technologies. 11. Scanning, image data processing, 12. Screening, proofing.

The aim of the course Photographic Processes is to provide students with chemical and technological methods in used photographic technologies and pre-press technologies.

Specification of controlled education, way of implementation and compensation for absences

Regular consultation at least 4-times a semestr. Test in e-learning.
