Learning outcomes of the course unit

The course makes students familiar with the mean, methods and technology of surface treatments of materials and about methods and equipments of simulation and operational tests in according to ISO and EN standards. Target of specialist subject is acquaint of students with basic theory of common deterioration processes and surface treatments for applications to stand-alone technical solutions and appreciation of behaviour owing to different deterioration environmental conditions and students can sort surface treatments of materials to important components of engineering – technical disciplines.

Prerequisites

Students are expected to be familiar with basic types of metal and chemical materials, with the relationship between their structure and physical-chemical properties. Knowledge of basic meteorology and atmospheric environment is an advantage.

Co-requisites
