Terminology; liquid phase deposition: Langmuir-Blodgett films, self-assembled films, casting methods; chemical vapor deposition: plasma polymerization, sputtering, laser-enhanced CVD, vacuum evaporation; modification of polymer surfaces: physical modifications, chemical modifications; thin film characterization: film thickness and deposition rate, structural analysis of thin films and polymer surfaces, chemical analysis of thin films and polymer surfaces; mechanical, electrical and optical properties of thin polymer films; application of thin polymer films and modified polymer surfaces.
